Pietro Carlo Cappa

Pietro Carlo Cappa was an Italian construction entrepreneur whose partnership with Viginio D’Alberto in 1932 established Cappa and D’Alberto in Lagos. After arriving in British West Africa in 1924 and gaining early construction experience in Ghana, Cappa settled in Nigeria, where he met D’Alberto in Kaduna. Their partnership became one of the formative construction enterprises in Nigeria, undertaking early works for the Catholic Mission and government before expanding into projects across the country. The company they established went on to become one of Nigeria’s longest-standing construction and engineering firms, with a substantial record of landmark building and infrastructure projects.
