Pan-Atlantic University
Editorial Summary
Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) is a private, not-for-profit Nigerian university whose institutional roots lie in Lagos Business School, established in the early 1990s to provide executive education and management training. The Federal Government approved the establishment of Pan-African University in 2002, with Lagos Business School becoming its first school, and the institution subsequently adopted the name Pan-Atlantic University. The university is owned by the Pan-Atlantic University Foundation, a Nigerian not-for-profit foundation, and has developed an academic model combining university education with management education, entrepreneurship, media and communication, science and technology, and broader liberal education.
PAU has since expanded into a multi-school university comprising Lagos Business School, the School of Management and Social Sciences, School of Media and Communication, School of Science and Technology, Enterprise Development Centre and Institute of Humanities.
