Editorial Summary

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is Ghana's specialist public university for teacher education and one of the country's principal institutions for the preparation of professional educators, education researchers and specialists in related fields. Established in 1992 through the merger of seven diploma-awarding institutions, UEW inherited a substantial tradition of teacher training and subsequently developed into a comprehensive university with academic provision extending beyond education into business, communication, creative arts, science, technology, agriculture, health, social sciences and other professional disciplines. Its campuses in Winneba, Kumasi, Mampong and Ajumako support a broad academic and research ecosystem, while its original teacher-education mandate remains central to its institutional identity. UEW's research and training activities increasingly address contemporary priorities including STEM education, technical and vocational education, digital learning, artificial intelligence, educational policy and sustainable development.
