Akeem Lawal is a founding member of Interswitch’s management team and a senior technology and payments executive who joined the company in 2002. He currently serves as Managing Director, Payment Processing & Switching at Interswitch Purepay, where he leads a major payments business responsible for innovations in Nigeria’s digital payments ecosystem. Before Interswitch, he worked with Oildata Services in Port Harcourt and TELNET as a Senior Engineer. He holds a first-class degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the University of Benin and an MBA from Lagos Business School. He is also an Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellow.
