Dr. Lawrence A. Kannae is a Ghanaian sociologist and higher-education administrator who became President of Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, on 1 June 2025. Before his appointment, he served as the institution's Vice President and Head of Quality Assurance and Institutional Relations, giving him direct experience in academic standards, institutional governance and organisational development. His professional background extends beyond the university: he previously served as Deputy Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Director of its Management Research Division and Managing Consultant, and Vice Chairman of Ghana's Public Services Commission. He holds a PhD and an MA in Sociology from the University of Akron in the United States, as well as a BA in Sociology with Political Science from the University of Ghana. His work across higher education, public administration and management consulting gives his presidency a strong institutional-development and public-service dimension.
