Jai Mahtani

Jai Mahtani was one of the founding figures behind PalmPay and was involved in establishing the company before its Nigerian launch in 2019. His work in PalmPay's formative period was tied to the company's development as a consumer payments business entering a market where mobile adoption, smartphone distribution and the shift toward digital transactions were creating new opportunities for financial services. PalmPay's early model combined digital payments with the distribution reach of Transsion's Tecno, Infinix and itel devices, giving the company a distinctive route into Nigeria's mass consumer market. Mahtani's place in PalmPay's history is therefore connected to the formation of the business and the early strategy through which it entered and developed its position in Nigeria's digital financial-services sector.
