Jeffrey Preston Bezos

Jeffrey Preston Bezos is an American entrepreneur, technology executive and investor best known as the founder of Amazon. He founded Amazon in 1994 after leaving a career in finance to pursue the emerging opportunities of the internet. The company initially launched as an online bookstore before expanding into a global technology and commerce business spanning e-commerce, cloud computing, digital entertainment, advertising, logistics and consumer technology. Bezos served as Amazon's Chief Executive Officer until 2021, when he transitioned to Executive Chairman. His founding of Amazon placed him among the entrepreneurs most closely associated with the transformation of global commerce and the growth of internet-based business.
