Landmark University
Editorial Summary
Landmark University is a private Christian university in Omu-Aran, Kwara State, established in 2011 with an institutional mandate centred on agricultural development, food security, entrepreneurship and human-capital development. Founded by Dr. David Olaniyi Oyedepo, the university was conceived around the goal of using higher education as a platform for an agricultural transformation in Africa. The institution describes itself as the pioneer private agriculture-based university in Nigeria.
From its agricultural foundation, Landmark University has developed into a multidisciplinary institution with academic programmes spanning agricultural sciences, business and social sciences, engineering and related fields. Its academic structure combines conventional university education with practical agricultural training, research, entrepreneurship and innovation, giving the institution a distinctive identity within Nigeria's private higher-education sector.
