Founder, NASCO Group
Industrialist, Entrepreneur
Dr. Ahmed Idris Nasreddin was the founder of NASCO Group, the Nigerian manufacturing and consumer-goods group established in Jos in 1963. He founded the business during Nigeria's early post-independence industrial development period, beginning with the establishment of a jute-bag factory that NASCO describes as the first in sub-Saharan Africa. Under his entrepreneurial leadership, the business developed beyond its original industrial operations into a diversified group with activities spanning manufacturing, food, household products, packaging and other sectors. His vision established the foundation for a multigenerational Nigerian business that has continued to operate and expand under subsequent generations of the Nasreddin family. NASCO officially describes his legacy as central to the company's development and identifies him as its founder.
