Tony O. Elumelu, CFR, is a Nigerian entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist and the founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), which he established in 2010 to advance entrepreneurship and economic empowerment across Africa. Through the Foundation, Elumelu has developed a major philanthropy focused on identifying, training, mentoring and funding African entrepreneurs across all 54 African countries. His approach to philanthropy is closely connected to his philosophy of Africapitalism, which places entrepreneurs and the private sector at the centre of Africa's economic and social development. Beyond TEF, Elumelu is the Founder and Chairman of Heirs Holdings and holds leadership positions across major African businesses and institutions.
